Korean Air was first known as Korean National Airlines (KNA) established in 1949 and then later changed to Korean Airlines in 1962. It was then being transformed from government holding to private holding since 1969 and known as Korean Air. Korean Air is also a parent company of Jin Air, a low cost airline of South Korea, a founding member of SkyTeam alliance and currently an official sponsor of the 2018 Winter Olympics.
