The 17th Asian Games Incheon, 2014 or Incheon 2014 Asian Games will be held on 19th Sept. – 4th Oct. 2014 (16 days) in Incheon Metropolitan City, South Korea where it is geographically located as the hub city of Northeast Asia. Incheon 2014 Asian Games also known as XVII Asiad featuring 439 events in 36 sports and will welcome approximately 20,000 participants – 13,000 athletes & officials and 7,000 media from 45 National Olympic Committees.

This year Incheon which was selected after defeating Delhi, India in 2007, being the third city in South Korea after Seoul (1986) and Busan (2002) to host the Asian Games. Three new events will be included, there are Archery – Compound (Men’s / Women’s Individual, Team), Triathlon – Mixed Relay, Judo – Men’s / Women’s Team.

The Logo – The shape of the letter ‘A’ for Asia to project the image of Asians soaring together, hand-in-hand, with their wings spread wide.

The Mascot – Three character of seals wre introduced as Vichuon (light), Chumuro (dance) and Barame (wind), harbor seal siblings, inhabiting Baekryeong lsland off the coast of Incheon.

The Slogan“Diversity Shines Here” is the official slogan of the Games which represents and highlights the significance of Asia’s wonderful diversity in history, cultures, and religions.
