Integrated Agricultural Development Area (IADA) was established in Penang in 1984, aims to develop agricultural areas “in-situ” measuring 13,000 hectares in Penang. It develops the infrastructure, agricultural extension and training to farmers in the rice bowl of Penang.
Among the objectives; Enhance productivity and maximise revenue to the target groups so that differences in income by sector – other sectors could be reduced; Modernising the agricultural sector to efficiency of production systems, saving manpower and ability to compete in domestic and overseas markets; To develop a target groups of disciplined community, self-reliant, progressive organisations and entrepreneurial spirit.
