Not only is The Store Corporation Berhad recognised as the largest supermarket and departmental chain by The Malaysia Book of Records (since 2001), it is also the oldest existing supermarket cum departmental chain in Malaysia. In 2008, The Store Corporation Berhad is celebrating its 40th anniversary since its first outlet at Jalan Besar in Bukit Mertajam opened on 28 November 1968.
