It is also the first sports channel is transmitted through the AstroFamily Package at Astro. Channels Astro Arena is an initiative of Youth and SportsMinister, Dato ‘Ahmad Shabery Cheek with the Olympic Council of Malaysia and theAstro to realize a sports channel for sports development in the country throughtelevision. As is generally known as Dato ‘Ahmad Shabery Cheek said his information minister in office has promised a sports channel for Malaysia under the program ofdigitization of RTM (RTM Arena), but after he converted to lead other ministries, the channel becomes a question mark, and his dream to make it happen somewhat blurreddue to RTM is no longer under his ministry. So with the Astro channel is made possibleonly through a discussion of the Astro and MOM. On March 26, 2010 for the first timeMalaysia’s first sports channel launched.
