Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun – HRPB is the General Hospital in Ipoh, Perak. HRPB is the third largest in hospital Malaysia after Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Pulau Pinang with a capacity of 990 beds, 16 operating rooms, 16 beds in adult ICU, 8 beds coronary care units, 17 beds ICU of a child (PICU) and 20 extra neonatal care unit.
Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun has been exist since 1891 as the Hospital District known as Hospital Ipoh with a capacity of 50 beds only. The hospital was upgraded as the State Hospital in 1942. 8 stories main building was completed in 1980. The hospital was renamed to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun on 12 June 2008.
Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun provides specialized services in all areas of expertise as well as sub-specialties such as nephrology, respiratory medicine, hematology, neuro surgery, plastic surgery, and pediatric surgery. Imaging services with CT scan and MRI equipment mammography machine. Today HRPB is one of the busy hospital in Perak specifically holding the capacity of Covid-19 patients.
