Lotus F1 Team is a new team of 2012 Formula 1 season using their own name following their previous team’s name, Renault F1 Team. Still using the same machine’s brand – Renault, Lotus F1 Team is owned by venture capital group – Genii Capital who bought large stake of Renault F1 Team and Group Lotus as the branding partner. As a legend in the Formula 1 Grand Prix since 1960, Lotus name was used by the team, (after they took over the name from Lotus Racing team, currently Caterham F1), but  ’Power by Renault’.

Caterham F1 Team is a new name following the previous seasons of Formula 1, Team Lotus, owned by Malaysian, with the team principal Tony Fernandes, the Group CEO of Air Asia. This team’s new name was introduced after the acquisition of the British sports car brand, Caterhams Car by the team’s principal. Caterham F1 Team machines of 2012 drivers are Heikki Kovalainen (Finnish) and Vitaly Petrov (Russian).
