
The Bank of China was established since 1912 as the central bank of China, the foreign exchange bank and the specialized foreign trade bank until 1949. The bank was then specialized in foreign exchange and international trade bank and made major contributions to the development of China’s foreign economy and trade as well as domestic economy after the big country becomes republic. Until today Bank of China has branches in 29 countries and regions worldwide, as well as 32 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China. In Hong Kong and Macao, Bank of China is also one of the local note-issuing banks.
