Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (PKS) established in 1987. Establishment in line with the objective to meet the needs of trained manpower resources to meet the aspirations of the country towards industrialization, thereby increasing competitiveness in world markets. In the early years, the PKS was operated in a shop house building at Simpang Tiga, Kuching with Mr. Mustapa Bin Mohamed as the first Principal. Its development followed the selection of a permanent set by the Ministry of Industrial Development Sarawak in collaboration with the Ministry of Education in Matang Land District Lot 88 as a permanent set of PKS with a total area of ​​land measuring 112 acres. Located about 23 miles from the center of Kuching City and its location at Mount Serapi and adjacent to the Kubah National Park provides a suitable and conducive environment for learning and teaching. Among the main courses provided are engineering studies and accountancy.
